So I’m Hiring a Photographer
So I’m Hiring a Photographer
Booking a photographer doesn’t have to be complicated—here’s a simple breakdown of what to expect:
1. Find your style
Every photographer has a unique look. Spend a little time browsing portfolios and choose someone whose work feels like you—whether that’s bright and airy, moody, candid, or editorial.
2. Make an enquiry
Reach out with the basics: what you need, when, and where. The more detail you provide, the easier it is to get an accurate quote and plan your session.
3. Lock in your date
Once you’re happy to move forward, you’ll usually pay a deposit (typically 50%) and confirm your booking. This secures your date in the photographer’s calendar.

Can you recommend any good locations?

4. Plan your session
Your photographer may help with location ideas, outfit guidance, and timing (golden hour is a favourite for a reason). This is where your vision starts to come together.
5. Shoot day
Expect a relaxed, guided experience. You don’t need to be a model—your photographer will direct you while also capturing natural, candid moments.
6. Editing & delivery
After the session, your images are professionally edited and delivered within the agreed timeframe. You’ll receive a gallery of finished photos ready to download, share, or print.
7. Optional extras
Things like prints, albums, or advanced retouching are often available if you want to take your images a step further.
